Arbutin-Cosmetic Grade(CAS 84380-01-8)
Arbutin is a natural glycoside whitening active ingredient extracted from bearberry leaves, bilberry and other plants, divided into two isomers: Alpha-Arbutin and Beta-Arbutin. It blocks melanin generation by inhibiting tyrosinase activity fundamentally, featuring non-exfoliating and skin-barrier-friendly properties. Alpha-Arbutin owns 10 times whitening efficacy and better stability compared with Beta-Arbutin. Our cosmetic-grade arbutin removes harmful impurities completely, with excellent compatibility and mild performance, suitable for sensitive skin formulas and conventional cosmetic production processes.

Key Benefits
• 10-15 times higher whitening efficacy than conventional beta arbutin, fast pigment fading effect
• Strong anti-light and anti-acid stability, not easy to oxidize and turn yellow during production and storage
• Non-exfoliating whitening mechanism, no damage to skin barrier, ultra-mild for sensitive skin
• Selectively inhibit tyrosinase, only block melanin without affecting normal skin physiological activity
• Excellent water solubility, fast dissolution without heating or extra co-solvent
• Wide compatibility, compatible with niacinamide, tranexamic acid, VC and most cosmetic actives
• Non-photosensitive ingredient, finished skincare products can be used in daytime without light avoidance
• Effectively improve stubborn pigmentation: acne marks, sun spots, chloasma and age spots
• Keep transparent formula clear, no flocculation or precipitation for transparent essence and toner
Applications
• High-end whitening essence: Recommended dosage 2%-5%
• Brightening toner and lotion: Recommended dosage 1%-2%
• Spot removing cream and anti-pigmentation emulsion: Recommended dosage 1.5%-3%
• Whitening facial mask and sheet mask: Recommended dosage 1%-3%
• After-sun repair gel and lotion to prevent melanin rebound
• Sensitive skin dedicated whitening skincare series
• Body whitening lotion for improving joint darkening and whole-body dullness
• Men skincare products for improving long-term staying up dull and yellow skin

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) & Document Request Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) & Document Request
Q1: Why choose alpha arbutin rather than beta arbutin for high-end skincare lines?
A: Alpha arbutin has stronger stability and higher whitening activity, not easy to yellow in long-term finished product storage. It can meet high-standard formulation requirements of high-end and medical beauty skincare, while beta arbutin is easy to be affected by light and acid, only suitable for low-cost daily mass-market products.
Q2: Can you provide full set of global compliance documents for customs clearance and cosmetic filing?
A: We can provide stamped COA, MSDS, raw material safety report, SCCS compliance statement, non-animal test certificate and third-party test reports, supporting customs clearance and cosmetic registration in Europe, America, Southeast Asia and other regions.
Q3: What is the maximum high-temperature resistance during cosmetic emulsification production?
A: Alpha arbutin can withstand continuous temperature below 70℃. We suggest adding it after cooling down to 50-60℃ during emulsification process to retain maximum whitening activity; long-term high temperature over 80℃ will cause slight activity loss.
Q4: Will alpha arbutin cause formula discoloration when compounded with VC derivatives?
A: It will not cause discoloration under reasonable pH control. We suggest controlling system pH at 5.5-6.5 to keep both ingredients stable and achieve synergistic whitening effect.
Q5: What is the shelf life of raw materials after opening original packaging?
A: After opening, please seal tightly and store away from light and moisture. The valid usage period is 12 months, shorter than original sealed 24 months shelf life. Please finish usage within 12 months after opening.
Q6: Is this raw material cruelty-free and vegan compliant?
A: Our alpha arbutin is fully synthetic, no animal-derived ingredients, no animal testing during production, meeting vegan and cruelty-free standard for European and American clean beauty brands.
