Coco-Caprylate/Caprate is a natural coconut-derived synthetic ester oil, composed of coconut fatty alcohol esterified with caprylic acid and capric acid. It is a mainstream lightweight dry-touch emollient widely used in global clean beauty formulas. Different from traditional mineral oil and thick plant oil, this raw material features ultra-fast skin absorption, non-greasy dry silky skin finish. It can perfectly replace dimethicone and other silicone oils to solve silicone oil compatibility and film-forming problems. With extremely low irritation, non-comedogenic property and excellent formula compatibility, it is a core universal oily raw material for sensitive skin skincare, matte skincare, sunscreen and color cosmetics.

Q1: What is the essential difference between coco-caprylate/caprate and caprylic/capric triglyceride (MCT)?

A: MCT is triglyceride with thicker lubrication and slight oily feel; while coco-caprylate/caprate is coconut alcohol ester with drier skin feel, faster absorption and better spreadability. It is more suitable for matte skincare and silicone-free formulas, while MCT is more suitable for high-moisture heavy moisturizing products.

Q2: Can this raw material be completely mixed with other common cosmetic oils?

A: It has full compatibility with all ester oils, vegetable oils, hydrocarbon oils and silicone oils. It can be mixed in any proportion without stratification or flocculation, no need to add extra compatibility additives during oil phase preparation.

Q3: Does coco-caprylate/caprate affect the viscosity and transparency of emulsified formulas?

A: This low-viscosity ester oil will not increase system viscosity, and will keep lotion and cream systems transparent and fine-textured. It can reduce formula stickiness and improve the fluidity of finished emulsified products.

Q4: What storage conditions are required to avoid oil rancidity?

A: Please seal and store away from high temperature and direct sunlight. Avoid long-term contact with air. Under normal warehouse storage conditions, the oil keeps clear and non-rancid within 24 months; after opening, please finish use within 12 months.

Q5: Is this raw material suitable for cold-process cosmetic production?

A: Fully suitable. It has excellent low-temperature fluidity and does not coagulate at room temperature. It can be added directly in cold processing formulas without preheating the oil phase, saving production energy consumption.
